I thought this may benefit those who haven’t seen it yet, particularly for those of us that don’t have super-sized bladders.
That—I’ve so heard—there are many scenes of flowing water certainly doesn’t help either.

Hmm.... that I didn't really notice. Too much action going on to really care about water. =) But yeah, Arwen was pretty much a useless character.

Yes, she was pretty useless but it added so much to the romantic part of the story! She's basically in it for the female portion of the audience to sigh and say "Wow, to be the love of Aragorn's life and an elven princess... *sigh*. Whereas, Eowyn is the kickbutt warrior woman that every female would like to be too. Now that girl totally rocked! She killed more monsters than Aragorn did!

Personally, I thought she was in it for viewers like me: "Wow, what a babe and an elven princess!"
She looked better in the first film though. Not quite as babe-alicious in the last part of the trilogy.
That's not to say Eowyn wasn't a babe either. But every time I saw I saw her, I kept thinking of the actress' real name: Miranda Otto.
What a weird name, Otto. Otto -- that was a bad guy in one of the early arcade games, Berzerk or something like that.
