Afterwards we continued our leisurely drive eastwards and took a short detour to take a look at Laie Point which is quite close to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Quite easy to get there actually even though it's not marked very well and it's pretty much located at the end of a neighborhood street. The hole in that lava arch apparently was caused by a tsunami many, many years ago.

By this time it was already late afternoon and we had to get back to Honolulu in time for dinner again with the ol' ONBAC bunch so we made a final stop at the Byodo-In Temple which is actually located at the rear of the Valley of the Temples cemetery. Quite a beautiful setting and place. Very serene although a bit mosquito-infested if you're there late in the afternoon. Also had a couple of black swans and assorted ducks living there along with a TON of koi in the moat around the temple.

Almost time for dinner so we headed back to Honolulu via Likelike Highway. Wound up at a great Japanese eatery (Tokkuri Tei) with Kim, Rob, Jeff, Devon, Audra, Janine and her boyfriend Ryan where we were taught the secrets of non-spill sake drinking by Rob. =) Then dropped by the tasty ice cream shop next door for some mochi ice cream and wound up back at our hotel lobby with Kim, Rob and Kyle with a six-pack of Heinekens. Definitely great seeing everyone again. =)
